| Studies bring new treatments |
 |
| Rx Research, formerly known as Atlanta Allergy &
Immunology Research Foundation was formed as a division of the Atlanta
Allergy & Asthma Clinic. Realizing the need for a better understanding
of nasal problems and asthma, we decided to perform research in these
fields in order to develop new and more effective medications. Clinical
studies are conducted for different pharmaceutical companies on medications
that may be beneficial to our patients. The studies are performed
to determine how well the medication works (efficacy) or how long
it lasts (duration). In order to assure the well being of study participants
the medication being tested is usually compared to something else,
such as a similar medication which is already on the market, and/or
a placebo ("sugar pill"). |
 |
| Think you would like to get involved? |
 |
| The criteria to participate vary from one study to
the next. While participation is voluntary, research participants
are compensated by free medical care during the study (care related
to the study), free medication, and a financial compensation after
the study has been completed (between $50 and $1,000). |
