Kathleen A. Sheerin, M.D., received her bachelor's degree at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She earned her medical degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Sheerin completed her residency at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where she also spent a year completing a fellowship in Pediatric Rheumatology. She then completed a three-year fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Sheerin is board certified by both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Sheerin's special areas of interest are food allergy and anaphylaxis.
She is the co-chair of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology's Anaphylaxis Public Education Task Force.
Dr. Sheerin is married to Mark Moncino, M.D., who practices pediatrics. They have two sons, Harrison and Owen, who go to school at Pace Academy. In her spare time, she enjoys golf and swimming.
