Seven physicians from Atlanta Allergy & Asthma — the largest allergy practice in Georgia — were recently honored as Top Doctors in metro Atlanta.
Drs. Stanley M. Fineman, Linda D. Guydon, Kathleen A. Sheerin, David D. Tanner, and John A. Zora were named to the 2014 list of Top Doctors in the July issue of Atlanta magazine, and both Drs. David W. Carlton and Kevin L. Schaffer were included in the prestigious Top Doctor online listing by Castle Connolly healthcare research company. Atlanta Allergy has had multiple physicians on the Top Doctor list since its inception.
Atlanta magazine named a total of seven physicians to the allergy and immunology category of their 2014 Top Doctors list. With five Atlanta Allergy physicians named, the practice comprised more than 70 percent of the magazine’s Top Doctors list for allergy and immunology.
The Top Doctors listing is compiled annually by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. — an established healthcare research company based in New York City. The organization also compiles Atlanta magazine’s list of Top Doctors annually. Doctors are nominated for consideration through both a nationwide survey and a peer nomination process open to licensed physicians in DeKalb, Fulton, Cobb, Clayton, and Gwinnett counties. Castle Connolly’s physician-led team of researchers then select the Top Doctors through a rigorous screening process that includes an evaluation of educational and professional experience.
Dr. Fineman said the practice is honored to have so many of its board certified allergy specialists recognized as Top Doctors this year. “This listing is a way of recognizing the important role specialists play in identifying and treating allergy and asthma conditions,” said Dr. Fineman. “We’re thrilled to be such an integral part of this treatment for the Atlanta community.”
