Nine physicians from Atlanta Allergy & Asthma – the largest allergy practice inGeorgia – rank among metro Atlanta’s Top Doctors in Atlanta magazine’s July issue. Each year, thepublication honors notable physicians among the area’s healthcare landscape. Atlanta Allergy & Asthma is nostranger to the accolade, having had multiple physicians on the Top Doctors list since its inception.
The Atlanta Allergy & Asthma physicians appearing on the 2025 Atlanta magazine Top Doctors list are: Drs.Sara B. Bluestein, Erinn T. Gardner, Lily G. Hwang, Louis B. Kalish, Keith I. Lenchner, Meera M. Patrawala,Kevin L. Schaffer, Kathleen A. Sheerin, and David D. Tanner.
Atlanta magazine creates its list from a roster of doctors selected by Professional Research Service (PRS).More than 1,300 physicians appear on the publication’s 2025 list. These doctors represent the followingcounties in Georgia: Carroll, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton,Gwinnett, Hall, Henry and Rockdale. PRS creates its list by conducting an online peer-review survey ofphysicians in the metro Atlanta area. Physicians are asked to nominate fellow physicians they deem the best intheir field of practice. Many votes were cast honoring excellence in all fields of medicine. The featured doctorswere screened and selected through the verification of licensing and review of any infractions throughapplicable boards, agencies, and rating services.

Dr. Sara B. Bluestein is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She completed herAllergy and Immunology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she received the SamMarney Award for Excellence in Allergy & Immunology Training. She earned her medical degree from theMedical College of Georgia and completed her residency in pediatrics at Levine Children’s Hospital (CarolinasMedical Center) in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Bluestein grew up in Marietta, Georgia and graduated fromthe University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology. She is a member of theAmerican Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and American College of Allergy, Asthma, andImmunology. Dr. Bluestein treats patients of all ages with allergic and immunologic conditions, and asthma.Her special areas of interest include food and drug allergies, eczema, and hives. She practices at theNorthlake location.
Dr. Erinn T. Gardner is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She earned hermedical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Gardner did her residencytraining in internal medicine at Northwestern University and then completed her fellowship training in Allergyand Immunology at Northwestern University and Northwestern University Children’s Memorial Hospital. Dr.Gardner is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the American Academy ofAllergy, Asthma & Immunology, and the Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Society of Georgia. She sees patientsat the Canton and Fayetteville locations.
Dr. Lily G. Hwang is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, the American Board ofInternal Medicine, and the American Board of Pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from Ross UniversitySchool of Medicine and completed a residency in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics and Women's HealthCertification from Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. She did a fellowship inAllergy and Immunology at Rush University Medical Center/John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, Chicago, IL. She is amember of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American Academy of Allergy,Asthma and Immunology, Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Society of Georgia, the American College ofPhysicians, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She practices at the Lawrenceville and Sandy Springslocations.
Dr. Louis B. Kalish is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergyand Immunology. He is a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the AmericanAcademy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College ofGeorgia, where he also completed an internship and residency in pediatrics. Dr. Kalish completed his allergyand clinical immunology specialty training at the University of Tennessee. He practices at the East Cobb andKennestone locations.
Dr. Keith I. Lenchner is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He earned hisundergraduate degree in biology from Harvard University and his medical degree at the University of Chicago.Dr. Lenchner completed both his residency training in internal medicine and his fellowship training in Allergyand Immunology at Northwestern University. He is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma &Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and the Allergy, Asthma & ImmunologySociety of Georgia. He practices at the Buckhead and Stockbridge locations.
Dr. Meera M. Patrawala is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She receivedher bachelor’s degree and medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Dr.Patrawala completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Emory University in Atlanta. Aftercompleting her specialty training in allergy/immunology at Emory, she then served as Senior ResearchAssociate in Emory’s Department of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthmaand Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Her special interests includethe management of food allergy and asthma. Dr. Patrawala practices at the Alpharetta location.
Dr. Kevin L. Schaffer is now retired. He was board certified by the American Board of Allergy andImmunology and the American Board of Pediatrics. He received his undergraduate degree from the Universityof Memphis and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee. He completed his internship andresidency in Pediatrics, as well as his fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Stanford University.
Dr. Kathleen A. Sheerin is board certified by both the American Board of Allergy & Immunology and theAmerican Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Sheerin earned her medical degree from Duke University and did herresidency training at Texas Children’s Hospital. She completed fellowship training in Allergy and Immunologyat Duke University. Dr. Sheerin is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, andthe American Academy of Pediatrics. She practices at the Lawrenceville and Sandy Springs locations.
