Dr. Kathleen A. Sheerin to Retire After 34 Years with Atlanta Allergy & Asthma

Updated on Wednesday, September 3, 2025

Dear Patients,

I have made the difficult decision to retire this fall after 34 years of providing allergy and asthma care to the Metro Atlanta community. It has truly been my privilege and an honor to be part of your healthcare journey.

It is humbling to reflect on the trust you have placed in me, often across multiple generations of your family. I have come to know many of you as friends, and I will deeply miss the relationships we’ve built over the years.

I am proud to have been part of Atlanta Allergy & Asthma, a practice made up of dedicated, board-certified allergists and an exceptional team of advanced practitioners, nurses, and administrative professionals. I am confident that you will continue to receive the highest quality care for your allergy, asthma, and immunology needs.

Ensuring continuity of care is our top priority. Dr. Lily Hwang, nurse practitioner Esther Chin, and the rest of the team in our Lawrenceville office will be available to care for my patients. In addition, you will be introduced to a new physician that is joining the Lawrenceville care team in the coming months. I have every confidence that you are in excellent hands.

You will receive more information on the transition in the weeks ahead. I will continue seeing patients through September, so if you have any active concerns or would simply like to see me before I retire, I encourage you to schedule an appointment.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being part of your healthcare team. I will miss you and wish you continued good health and happiness in the future.

With warmest regards,

Kathleen Sheerin, M.D.
