Allergy season has arrived early in Georgia, and our very own Sara B. Bluestein, M.D., recently spoke with WSB-TV about the spike in spring pollen levels across metro Atlanta.
Dr. Bluestein explained that once temperatures remain above freezing, trees and plants quickly begin to bloom, which leads to rising pollen counts and see an allergist, and how allergy testing is the essential first step in identifying specifically what is causing your symptoms. This leads to customized treatment plans which may include avoidance measures, medications, or allergy immunotherapy, a treatment that can provide long-term relief for symptoms and lead to better overall health.
