We are excited to announce that Njeri Maina, M.D., Ph.D., recently joined the staff of our Douglasville office. Dr. Maina, an experienced allergist/immunologist, has been practicing in Birmingham, Alabama since 2018.
Dr. Maina completed her Allergy and Immunology fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and her residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She received her medical degree, along with her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology, from Indiana School of Medicine.
Dr. Maina has experience in the U.S. as well as abroad doing medicine rotations in Guyana, Costa Rica, and Kenya. During her time in Alabama, she served as an allergist at the Birmingham Veterans Administration as well as a volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Allergy and Immunology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a Fellow in the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
Dr. Maina, along with her husband and children relocated to Douglasville at the beginning of the year and are enjoying getting to know the community.
